Kaare Stokdal, owner and operator of Stokdal Construction, has over 3 decades of historical renovation experience. He and his team of talented artisans focus on high-end residential, estates, institutions as well as several of the most famous buildings in New York City. Profiled below are just a few of the many projects entrusted to Kaare and his crew:
The Dakota
- We have been the exclusive exterior contractor, performing restoration work on the masonry, facades, courtyard, slate and flat roofs, for the past 28 years.
455 Central Park West
- We installed over 40,000 square feet of slate roofing in the field and on the conical turrets.
- Fabricated and installed the lead-coated copper dormers, gutters and decorate finials.
- Restored the deteriorated masonry carvings.
- Removed, restored and reset all of the brownstone curbing.
- Removed, restored and reset all of the cast iron fencing.
- Fabricated and installed all of the mahogany brickmold and surrounding window trim.
Chrysler Building
- Fabricated and installed new stainless steel roofing on the four facades at the 69th floor.
- Restored various areas of stainless steel cladding from the 69th to 73rd floors.
- Restored various stainless steel figurines.
Ritz Tower
- Removal and replacement of 2 copper standing seam roofs at the 37th and 42nd floors.
River House
- Removal and replacement of all of the existing limestone balconies including new structural steel.
- Removal and replacement of waterproofing at various roofs and terraces.
- Removal and replacement of masonry and limestone elements.
Carhart Mansion
- Fabrication and installation of decorative copper roofing and elements. Installation of Kemper waterproofing on all roofs and terraces.
- Removal and replacement of masonry.
